This bridge is near my house in Charlestown. The two tall pillars resemble the Bunker Hill Monument.

Hi Ralph,

Is that bridge in use already? When I visited my sister and her family who then lived in Reading, just after 9/11, they were working on it. The Big Dig itself won't be completed by far I guess?

Visiting family and friends in the Boston area and on Manhattan was a strange and deeply intense experience so shortly after the attacks. A very strange mix of being a tourist, sharing the shock and grief, and making sure that the people we knew were doing allright. We hope to visit again. Loved Boston.

best,

Ton

Yes, the bridge and tunnel are complete. The bridge is lit at night with blue light making it quite dramatic. Now the above ground work needs to be completed, but already the city looks completely different.

Hi,
My name is Rebecca and I am 13 years old. In woodshop I have to do a research paper on the Zakim Bridge. I saw your website from Google and this looks very professional. If possible could you email me at bshootingstars45@yahoo.com if you have anymore info on the Leonard P. Zakim Bridge?
Thank You,
Rebecca
