I have started to use a new applicaiton called HotRecorder to record interviews that I am doing on SKYPE and it is working perfectly. It is a very easy app to use. I recommend paying 14.95 for it and that way you do not have to see the advertisements that accompany the free version.
I have tried Hotrecorder, and I've paid for the premium version.
They send me a beta version of an audio converter tool for premium users. Very useful for podcasting!!
I used Hotrecorder voicemail and truly, truly regret it. One of the first times it picked up a Skype call, I was having a critical meeting in my office. My headset microphone (hanging on a hook under my desk) picked up every word of my meeting for the 2-minute voicemail recording duration!!
It was a competitor, and he overheard some very damaging information, with legal implications. Now I wait for the other shoe to drop.
That would also happen using a laptop or desktop microphone, and probably applies to any voicemail recorder that records locally on your machine.

I've been using Hotrecorder (paid version) for the last 4 months and I must admit that results surpass my expectations. I use it mostly with Skype
Reproduction quality is suberp. Reliability outstanding.
The indexing system is very cool. You just have to save your recording using keywords and then you retrieve it in no time.

The developers of Hotrecorder claim it works with Google Talk as well.

I think that with Hotrecorder one has to be careful as it were a regular tape recorder.
What you're saying has nothing to do with the software itself. I use it every day to record my Skype calls and never experienced any glitch of that kind.

Hotrecorder does work with Google Talk.
Frankly speaking, I prefer Skype over Google Talk in the first place, but Hotrecorder does a good job with Google Talk as well.
